“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” – Isaiah 55.8-9 (ESV)

If you’ve spent any time in a church community, you’ve likely heard or read this passage before. And our automatic application is that God is so far above us, being nothing like us and therefore holy. And while this passage can be applied in this way, and God is holy, the context of this passage brings it to life even more.

It’s a beautiful reminder that God’s nothing like us!
